We are a learning community providing quality education for children predominately living in the Kamo area of Whangarei. We cater for children from New Entrants to Year 6. The total Kamo Primary School roll is usually in the vicinity of 390 to 475.
Our school vision is ‘Learning for the Future’ and we feel this illustrates the journey of lifelong learning which is at the heart of the New Zealand Curriculum.

Kia Ora Koutou,
We have had some parents want to purchase a Te Kamo School Hoodie.
These are hard wearing, warm and perfect for the colder weather or the sports field to show off their school PRIDE.
If you would like to purchase a Hoodie the cost will be $52 each and will include the School Logo on the front and you can also get a name placed on the lower back in Gold vinyl.
Attached is the design and sizes.
Order forms will be sent home tomorrow, Friday 23rd with more info on how to purchase these.

Kia ora koutou,
Just a reminder to our school community that next Friday 1st May is a Teacher Only Day.
We have a mandated Mathematics and Statistic Learning Day for Teacher only as required by the Ministry of Education.
We made you aware of this last term and are reminding you.
Monday is also ANZAC day, so it will be a short week. Not ideal just after the holidays, but also not in our control.
Thank you for your support,
The Teaching Team at KPS

Change to Clark Road Entry to School - Both entering and exiting
On Monday 23rd March and Tuesday 24th March, the Clark Road gate entry and exit to school will be LOCKED over.
We are having a new gate system being installed as the gate can be left open. This is unsafe for our students.
We feel the confusion can occur between the joint use of the gate with the Kohango Reo and the school.
This new gate which will be by the Kohango gate will provide extra security. We must stress… WE STILL WANT THE CLARK ROAD GATE CLOSED.
This will mean a gate will be opened on the field on Monday 23rd March and Tuesday 24th March to allow students to enter and exit. You just need to walk past the ramp leading up to the school on Clark Road, and a bit further along the concrete path, then turn left, and walk up the wide grass verge thought the gates.
Keep to the right side of the marked off area, and you will be clear from the work. Shoes may get a little wet if we have heavy due or rain.
Thank you for your patience and the two days will fast pass.
This will also mean no scooter and bike track for those two days at school.
Thank you for understanding and for supporting our school to be a safer place.
