Our school days are full and thank you for all your support to date. Starting school calls on so many skills and feelings. The one we as a school we strive for in the very early days of starting school is “INDEPENDENCE."
Why?
Here are a few to mention.
Your child, our student, needs to be able participate alongside others and…
- Carry their bag to school and home again.
- Change themselves at swimming time.
- Clean up when they have finished constructing.
- Use their manners.
- Engage with school learning.
And be a good friend to all.
Of course the list is far more extensive, however we would like to ask you to support us with the following 5,
over the next 3 weeks:
- Your child is capable of wearing their bag to class and home again.
- Your child can complete any morning tasks, such a putting their book bag in the right place, handing in anote etc.
- Your child will use manners when needed, especially, please, pardon and thank you.’
- Your child will hold a pencil correctly - there are excellent YouTube clips to explain correct grip.
- Your child can hold and use scissors correctly. Children size scissors.
We look forward to sharing more areas of support with you, and we thank you for investing in your child, to
make school life more successful.
"The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." - Denis Waitley
